To celebrate the National Day of the State of Qatar . H.E., Eisa bin Jaber Al Kuwari , the Gneral Consul organized a reception . The reception was attended by the representative of the Spanish Government in Barcelona ,  the representative of the Ministry of Defence , the General Director of the National Guard , and the Commander of the Navy. Many heads of diplomatic missions , and business men attended the event.

The reception saw the screening of movies in English , Arabic and Spanish which highlighted the culture and economic growth of the State of Qatar.

H.E. , the General Consul also gave a speech , inspired by the symbol of the Qatar National Day of this year, derived from the poetry of the Founder of Qatar , Sheikh Mohammed bin Jassim Al Thani . The speech also focused on the bilateral relations between the Kingdom of Spain and the State of Qatar, which also detailed ways of strengthening it such as the intention of Qatar Investment Authority , to cooperate with the Spanish Development Finance Company for a shared investment in Latin America.

H.E.'s speech also focused on the blockade perpetuated against Qatar , and how Qatar was able to overcome it's obstacles thanks to the wisdom of the leadership of H.H. , Sheikh Tamim Bin Hamad Al Thani , the Emir of the State of Qatar (May God protect him) , and the unity of the Qatari people in the face of this blockade.
