Traditions of Catalonia:

There are quite a number of traditions in Catalonia although most of them are of ancient origin but some traditions have relatively begun to take their place only at recent days. Sometimes these traditions vary in the same region from one region to another. The Catalan community is considered a people of generosity.

Festivals:

Correfocs/ in which "The Devils," play with fire in the close view of the spectators, is one of the most striking festivals of the Catalan ceremonial manifestations, the devils are not the embodiment of evil but the characters of the feasts full of vitality and dancing on the drums.

And traditional galaxies during which they launch their own fireworks. Another tradition occurs during the St Gurdy Spring Festival (St. George's Day on April 23). In which men guide roses (mostly deep red) to women, and women present us with a book of men as a gift. Also known as Book Day. In conjunction with other celebrations in memory of such great writers as William Shakespeare and Miguel de Cervantes .... On that day, the streets will be filled with people gathered around bookstores and flowers.

Colles Castelleres is one of the most exciting Catalan festivals, groups of enthusiasts who make up towers (up to 10 people). This is an old tradition of the region of Tarragona, which has now spread in many parts of Catalonia and has become a real spectacle or sport that attracts thousands of people. Other important celebrations are the carnivals held at the regional level, particularly in Sitges, Solsona, Tarragona, Blanuba e Langtru and Berga.

Diada"Catalan or National Day of the Catalan is on September 11, 1714, after defeat and surrender by Barcelona to the French army - Castilian from Spain and his support during the Spanish War of Philip V.

Catalan cuisine:

Catalan cuisine is one of the Mediterranean cuisine, similar to the Catalan dishes with Andorran cuisine, as well as French Catalan in southern France and among those dishes.
